Hyper-pigmentation Treatment

Facial hyper pigmentation can be treated in various ways depending on the severity of the skin problem.
The first protocol is to evaluate if the hyper pigmentation areas are dermal pigmentation or epidermal pigmentation.

Dermal Pigmentation

Dermal Pigmentation is deeper and is very difficult to remove. In most cases, this type of hyper pigmentation will require long term treatment consisting of certain types of peels and depigmentation products which the patient will use at home for a certain period of time to complement the results of the peel.

There two types of chemical peels which will treat dermal pigmentation.

Hyperpigmentation - Skin Types - Non-Surgical Cosmetic Treatments

Patients with skin types 1-3 will see faster results since the melanocytes cells are less active and the risk of post treatment problems are rare. The most effective peel for these skin types is the Easy TCA Peel and the results are shown below.

Hyperpigmentation - 4 sessions of treatment - Non-Surgical Cosmetic Treatments

Four sessions is considered a program and the result is excellent. The patient has received the last peel of the 4 peel program and therefore the skin is healing but pigmentation is 80% removed.

Dermal Pigmentation for skin types 4-6, we use the ICP Peels and the results are shown below

Epidermal and Dermal Pigmentation

Hyperpigmentation - 4 sessions of treatment - Non-Surgical Cosmetic Treatments

The ICP Peel is the best solution for ethnic skin. The results are amazing.

Patients with Epidermal Hyper pigmentation (all skin types) can combine skin depigment creams with Glycolic Peels (medical grade glycolic acid) to treat this type of skin problem.
This is one of the most difficult skin conditions to treat and it is important to evaluate if your clinician knows how to treat the problem.
